On July 8, the TCA Alliance team convened for an internal strategy workshop in Berlin. After ten months of working together, the meeting provided an opportunity to refine the direction for the remaining eight months and develop a common strategic direction. The focus was on future content and formats such as a position paper, workshops, and targeted advocacy activities. We analyzed political "windows of opportunity," agreed on key messages, and developed ideas for addressing relevant partners in politics and society. Other topics included the integration of new organizations, the further development of the governance structure, and initial approaches to a fundraising strategy. A true-cost study on coffee will be published this year, as will a position paper with recommendations for policymakers. Both are expected to be presented at the sustainability conference in Neumarkt in November.
